Griggs Haulage Contractors Pty Ltd is a family owned Transport Company dedicated to providing the best transportation service in North Queensland. With experienced drivers and well cared for, late model equipment, we deliver bitumen, sand, gravel, millmud, garden mix, supasoil and liquid fertilizer when and how you need it. We also shift heavy equipment, machinery and transportable buildings.

Griggs Haulage is also the sole contractor for the transport and application of liquid Biodunder in the Burdekin Region. Since inception in 1990, our mission has been to be a leader in specialized haulage, providing fast, efficient and friendly service that is second to none!

Original founders Stephen and Doris Griggs are the Company Directors with son Damien managing the day to day operation of the fleet. Aaron, Jody and Kristine Griggs also work in the business along with a staff of 25 employees. Starting with only one truck, the company has expanded to keep pace with the rising need in the transportation industry. Griggs Haulage Contractors currently operate a fleet of 24 Trucks, 34 Trailers, 4 Front End Loaders, 3 Fertilizer Applicators and various support vehicles; and has evolved to meet the constantly changing requirements of today’s marketplace.

The management of the company operations is assisted by the use of a GPS tracking system in the Heavy Mass Vehicles and through accreditation in the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme audited by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

Our Industrial Relations arrangements are compliant with both the National Code of Practice for the construction industry and the Australian Government Guidelines which means we are “Code Compliant”.

[master builders queensland] Previous civil tasks completed include the Seymour Whyte project – Camooweal Rd, Jilalan Project Sarina, Woodstock Giru Rd widening and bitumening, Subcontractor for Herveys Range Rd upgrade and Musgrave to Laura upgrade. We also complete regular work with the Local Councils and Main Roads Departments in the North Queensland area.

We regularly deliver asphalt to paver with most recent supply for the Townsville Port Access Road, resurfacing of the Bruce Highway Townsville South, as well as University Drive at Lavarack Barracks.

As a supplier of various Bulk Landscaping Materials, we have been fortunate enough to achieve successful tender to supply substantial quantities of turf soil and garden mix for local projects including the Townsville Men’s Prison, Townsville Women’s Prison, The V8 Supercar Track, The Cleveland Youth Detention Centre and also the Lavarack Barracks upgrade.
